The Biggest Little Rescue in Nevada

How It Works

Catmandu accepts a limited number of adult and senior cats on a space available basis. When someone is adopted, it opens up a slot for a new cat to come in. We have many wonderful cats needing forever homes and would love to introduce you to your new best friend. Every cat that you adopt makes room for another cat needing shelter and security.

Senior 2 Senior Program

The Senior 2 Senior program places senior cats (age 10+) with senior citizens in a long-term foster situation. The cat remains with the person for the rest of their life.

However, if something should happen to the person, the cat returns to us.

Through a combination of nutrition, homeopathy and vet care, we provide for the medical needs of the cat.

If needed, we can supply food and litter to the foster. For those on a small fixed income, donations and sponsorships will cover the cost of their cat supplies.

“Amazing!  Cats can roam freely so you get a better idea of their personality for a better match with your home. Easy to ask and receive questions about each baby. Amazing rescue.”

Yvonne D

“Adopted a kitten from Catmandu in November 2015.  Firstly, these are cat people.  IF you are ready to give a cat or kitten a loving forever home, then Catmandu is for you.”

Kelly E

“This is an amazing non-profit organization run by volunteers who are devoted to providing quality care and love in a home-like setting for cats. We recommend anyone looking to adopt to go check them out.”

Volunteer

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Catmandu! Without the wonderful people who selflessly give their time, energy and skills; we would cease to exist. Our success or failure is dependent on community support and involvement.

Furever

As Catmandu is a sanctuary as well as an adoption center, many of our residents are here for years or for their whole life. They are cats who are either shy with strangers and slow to warm up to people they don’t know or who are completely untouchable. Consequently, although many are super-sweet once they get to know you,  they are seldom adopted and many will call Catmandu home for life.

Adoptions

Our goal at Catmandu is to find forever homes for the cats in our care. We work very hard to make sure adopters and cats are well-matched and will theoretically be together for life. We are more interested in the quality of adoptions rather than the quantity. While some organizations will adopt to anyone that has a pulse, that’s not who we are.

Catmandu is community supported. We receive no government funding; relying on donations and community support to keep the doors open. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization; donations are tax-deductible.
